Library has substantial book funds. In basic there are area expertise literature in: Psychology, Medicine, Rehabilitation and similar. Books are available for reading to the students and pupils. Taking literature outside Association’s premises is not allowed. Exception is for the “Readers” i.e. volunteers who are taking literature for reading and recording. Volunteers sign for literature along with recording equipment (digital Dictaphone). After completing recording literature and recording equipment are returned back and signed off (for more information on recording literature you can see here).

Reason for founding association in year 1998 were results of research and analysis of the position and rights of people with special needs and their difficulties while signing at Faculties. Well known fact is that people with special needs have bigger life expenses depending on sort of their difficulties. Difficult position in society, absence and scarcity of legal regulations, physical obstacles and many other problems, present sufficient number of reason for founding service for helping students with special needs. As one of basic elements of the society, this service from its initiation till date has greatly provided help to many of those who needed same.

What can shortly describe actions of such service can be seen through basic activities done by our association:

• Pawning for equal rights and possibilities for the people with special needs – specially with respect to the Right to education

• Financial-Material help within resources and possibilities available to the association in certain moment

• Help with procurement of certain accessories

• Help with entry to their studies, exercising their rights to accommodation in student dorms

• Concrete help in overcoming physical obstacles (improper parking, absence of approaching ramps and similar)

• Counseling and education

Owing to the positive actions of volunteers in our association, we are helping on daily basis to all students with special needs that wish and require our help. Operation of the service is financed through different projects done by association.

Volunteer service is crucial component of our organization. Our volunteers are mainly students of different faculties at Tuzla University. But, besides students, in our volunteer service there are other active members: teachers, university professors, high school students and individuals. Anyone can be volunteer. Joining to our association is simple process and does not require any special procedure. Volunteer comitments are strictly on voluntary basis which enables individuals and groups to choose most favourable time and space for their role in certain activity.

Our service Eduka  has the most activities during student holidays i.e. in period when students are the least occupied with exams. It is interesting how the work and dynamics of different aspects of education is preconditioned by students of special requirements and volunteers them selves. They are the one's who decide when a cycle of courses will start and which areas will be covered. It is also interesting that some of the trainings is done by our students/volunteers, members of our Association.

Eduka is having several types of training. Often the trainers i.e. educators are our volounteers who had expertise in certain areas. Bud, in scope of our well developed cooperation with non-government sector; often our members have available trainings from different scientific areas. Our association puts maximum efforts to cover travel expenses, accommodation etc. in cases when our members have trainings in other organizations and institutions.
